About

Sean Lackey, Orlando architect

I have been shaping thoughtful residential architecture in Central Florida for more than three decades. Whether I am creating a new custom residence or guiding a sensitive addition or alteration, I bring a calm, experienced approach. It’s important that clients feel confident from the very beginning.

Originally from outside Dayton, Ohio, I moved to Orlando with my family in 1985 and later earned my Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami. There, I studied under nationally recognized leaders in new urbanism and historic preservation, influences that continue to shape my work today. After graduating, I returned to Orlando and contributed to notable projects in communities including Celebration, Isleworth, and Lake Nona.

I later served as Town Architect for Baldwin Park, where I helped develop and administer the architectural guidelines for one of Central Florida’s most recognized new urbanist communities. My work included architectural review, analysis of massing and placement, density considerations, and close coordination with the City of Orlando to help ensure the long-term quality and character of the neighborhood. Baldwin Park later received the Urban Land Institute’s 2004 Award of Excellence.

Since launching my own firm in 2007, I have worked on residential projects throughout Central Florida, including homes in Winter Park, College Park, Country Club of Orlando, and Oakland Park. I have also worked with Tavistock on planning services, architectural guidelines, and architectural review for Laureate Park at Lake Nona. In addition, I have served for many years on the Design Review Committee for Lake Nona Estates and have also served on the City of Orlando’s Historic Preservation Board.

Outside the office, I enjoy swimming and rowing. I also volunteer with organizations in Central Florida and have traveled internationally on humanitarian missions, helping with housing efforts in Guatemala, Mexico, and Brazil.
